Each year, the club’s activities, are suggested and organized by members who enjoy the beauty and utility of the Arabian breed. The Quebec Arabian Horse Association sponsors one provincial horse shows. Our shows offer participants a friendly atmosphere of competition where people can showcase their horses, improve and acquire skills in showing at either halter or in a variety of ridden and driven performance classes, and have a good time. The QAHA also offers clinics periodically to further expand the horseperson’s general equine knowledge. For those who enjoy the simple pleasures of trail riding, the club sponsors group rides through some of the most scenic regions of Québec.
Each member receives a subscription to La Revue du cheval arabe, a bilingual magazine published by volunteer members, 2 times yearly. La Revue provides an advertising forum for Arabian horse breeders, keeps members up-to-date on QAHA events and activities, and contains timely articles on a wide range of subjects such as breeding, training, equine health as well as Canadian and international Arabian horse news.
A QAHA director who is also on the Board of the Canadian Arabian Horse Registry, is available to provide information and support for anyone with concerns about registration, transfers of ownership, identification, etc of Arabian and Partbred Arabian horses in Canada.
The Board of Directors of the Quebec Arabian Horse Association is composed of 8 Directors, who are elected for a 2-year term of office. In the fall of each year, nominations are open for election of 4 Directors. Members are always welcome to become actively involved in QAHA activities by taking a seat on the Board.
